Three MCC Players Named NJCAA Division III All-Region XXI
MANCHESTER, Conn. (Nov. 3) – Manchester Community College sophomore back BonnieLynn Zannoni (ENFIELD) was named to the 2006 NJCAA Division III All-Region XXI women’s soccer first team and freshman midfielder Seana Pollard (GLASTONBURY) and freshman back Megan Paholsky (ROCKY HILL) were selected to the second team.
Zannoni, a 2004 first-team NJCAA Division III All-Region XXI selection, led MCC with 10 goals (including 3 game-winners) and 23 points in 12 games. She matched her career high for goals in a season (10) and recorded 20 goals and nine assists in 26 career games. Zannoni tied her career high for goals scored in a game with four in the Cougars’ 6-0 home win against Bunker Hill Community College on Sept. 9.
Pollard finished second to Zannoni in goals (8) and points (19). She scored two goals in a game twice this season, both times versus Briarwood College.
Paholsky, a primary marking back, had two goals on the season.
Manchester Community College was the recipient of the 2006 NJCAA Division III Region XXI Women’s Soccer Sportsmanship Award.
MCC (4-7-1 overall) started the season undefeated with a 0-0 tie at Massasoit Community College on Sept. 2 and a win against Bunker Hill CC on Sept. 9. The Cougars won consecutive games near the end of the season with 8-0 victories at Bunker Hill Community College (Oct. 14) and against Briarwood College (Oct. 23).
