Tax-Saving Strategies for Young Professionals at “Beer, Burgers & Managing Your Bucks”
Manchester, CT – March 4, 2014 . . . There’s a big distinction between paying your taxes and planning your taxes – and knowing that difference can slice a good chunk off of what you owe the IRS every April.
At the next “Beer, Burgers & Managing Your Bucks” on Wednesday, March 12, certified financial planner Ryan Tuttle will show young professionals why being a proactive taxpayer – someone who incorporates tax strategies into his or her financial decision-making throughout the year and not just at tax time – can pay off big.
Among the things he’ll talk about:
• How your year-round financial decisions impact your tax bill
• Strategies (beyond IRAs and 401k’s) that can boost your tax savings
• How to avoid the most common tax-filing mistakes
• Specific tax tips relevant to the situations of young adults
Even if you think you have your taxes all figured out, chances are you’ll come away from March’s program with an idea or two for keeping more of your hard-earned money in your own pocket.

“Beer, Burgers & Managing Your Bucks” is a networking and money-management gathering for 20- and 30-somethings that takes place the second Wednesday of each month from 5:15 to 7 PM at MCC on Main, 903 Main Street in Manchester. The first half of the evening is devoted to mingling, sampling craft brews and enjoying sliders; the second half features a money-related presentation relevant to young adults by a local financial or business expert. Admission to “Beer, Burgers & Managing Your Bucks” is $5.
About the Speaker:
Ryan P. Tuttle is Senior Financial Advisor at Connecticut Wealth Management /Connecticut Wealth Management, LLC), a financial planning and investment advisory firm that serves individuals, families, business owners and executives. He is a graduate of the University of Connecticut where he earned a bachelor of science degree in Business Administration with a focus in Finance. He is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) licensee, a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®) and a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®). He holds his health, life and annuity licenses with the State of Connecticut and the Connecticut Partnership for Long Term Care Producer Certification. About March’s Featured Brewery:
This month we’ll offer a sampling of craft beer from Manchester’s own Top Shelf Brewing Company, located in the historic Hilliard Mills complex on Hilliard Street. Owners Mike Boney, TJ Lavery and Joe Frost opened Top Shelf’s doors last fall with three core offerings: American, Irish and Belgian ales. Since then, the small three-barrel brewery has experienced tremendous growth and plans are in the works for an expansion. Taproom hours at 640 Hilliard Street are currently Fridays 4-7 p.m. and Saturdays 12-4 p.m.
