Taking Computer Training on the Road

Manchester, Conn., – (June 30, 2009)… Manchester Community College (MCC) is launching a new program that would provide computer-based training to companies that don’t have a physical computer lab on site.

MCC’s Mobile Computer Cart program supports organizations that have computer-based training needs for employees, but don’t have the equipment or capabilities to conduct the training on site. The program brings computer technology directly to businesses, and offers customized training in specific software and other applications. An instructor from MCC can bring up to ten notebook computers and convert almost any conference room or lunch room into a physical computer lab for training.

“We are creating new ways to partner with the business community,” stated Miquel Pigott, business services representative in the Continuing Education division. “If companies are unable to come to MCC for training, we are able to bring our services directly to them.”

Training is available for MS Office 2007, MS Office 2003 and AutoCAD. Computer-based manufacturing training is also available in Lean, CNC, shop math and blueprint reading.
