The general education core is an integral part of every degree program at MCC and at most baccalaureate institutions. MCC’s academic excellence, technology-rich classrooms and learning spaces, flexible schedules, small class sizes and low tuition provide a quality educational opportunity to affordably supplement bachelor’s degree coursework.

MCC’s general education offerings include classes in English composition, mathematics, physical and natural sciences, social sciences, humanities and the arts. Students should always check with their home – or intended – senior institution to ensure that credits will transfer and meet their curricular requirements.

Students interested in completing a bachelor’s degree at one of Connecticut’s four state universities or Charter Oak State College should bear in mind that by taking advantage of Connecticut State Colleges and Universities “Transfer Ticket” programs, students can transfer– with an associate degree and as a junior – confident that they will be earning Connecticut’s most affordable bachelor’s degree and having only half of the bachelor’s degree requirements remaining in their major.
