STCC Scores Three Unanswered Goals To Beat MCC 4-2

MANCHESTER – Trailing 2-1 with twenty minutes to play, Springfield Tech (2-6-2, 3-2-1) scored three unanswered goals to beat Manchester CC 4-2 in a Region 21, Division III game Wednesday afternoon.

Joshua Smith scored the game-winner in the 73rd minute and scored an insurance goal with six minutes to play. Giuseppe Panajia (Glastonbury) scored his sixth goal of the season to give MCC (9-3, 7-2) a 1-0 lead 12 minutes into the game. Dan Mizura (Plainville) gave MCC a 2-1 halftime lead, but Peter Gilbert tied it three minutes after the break before Smith’s two goals.

Dexter Walker (Windsor) and Robert Umunakwe (West Hartford) had assists for MCC.
