Manchester, Conn. (January 11, 2016) – Supporters of Manchester Community College are invited to join MCC Foundation in honoring distinguished members of the community Sunday, February 14, at the sixth annual “Hall of Fame” brunch.
Each year, MCC Foundation honors individuals or groups who have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to Manchester Community College. Two awards are bestowed: Extraordinary Volunteer Service award and Investor of the Year award.
The “Hall of Fame” brunch this year will be held at A Villa Louisa in Bolton, Conn., at 11:30 a.m. Reservations are required. For more information and to register for the brunch with a donation of $10 per person, visit the website.
Honorees will be Gary D. Lavigne, Esq., and Betsy K. Treiber as 2016 recipients of the Extraordinary Volunteer Service award; and Dr. Robert Fish and Mrs. Joyce Fish ’81 as 2016 Investors of the Year.
Lavigne, of South Windsor, is a founding partner of the Manchester-based law firm Lavigne, Mark, Rogers & Bruggeman, LLC, and was an active member of the MCC Foundation board for seven years. He has served as co-chair of the Evening of Fine Wines executive committee. Evening of Fine Wines is MCC’s annual signature gala fundraiser.
Treiber, of Willington, was an active member of the MCC Foundation board for nine years and also served as co-chair of the Evening of Fine Wines executive committee. She attended MCC before completing her degree at UConn.
As Investors of the Year, Dr. and Mrs. Fish, formerly of Glastonbury, Conn., and now residents of Sarasota, Fla., have been leadership supporters of the Evening of Fine Wines event for more than 18 years. In 2015, they served as presenting sponsor of the event and were pivotal in the success of the gala, which raised more than $240,000 to support scholarships, academic programming and student support services for deserving MCC students. The couple also established the Dr. Robert and Joyce Fish Scholarship Endowment Fund, which provides financial support for students enrolled at MCC.
