Scholarships to MCC Available for Graduating High School Seniors – Application Deadline June 15

MANCHESTER, Conn. (June 8, 2018) – Manchester Community College now offers scholarship opportunities to high school seniors who are planning to attend in the Fall 2018 semester. The High School Graduate Scholarship is made possible through the MCC Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports the mission and purpose of Manchester Community College. The deadline for applying for a fall award is June 15.

The program is open to graduating high school students who have been admitted to MCC. Applicants must meet the following criteria: They must be enrolled either full- or part-time in an MCC degree or certificate program, have a high school grade point average of 2.5 or better, be able to demonstrate volunteer activity and show evidence of financial need.

Recipients of a GED also are eligible for the scholarship.

“MCC represents such a great opportunity for high school graduates to build their careers, thanks to the college’s strong focus on the holistic needs of its students, its vibrant student life, the commitment of faculty and staff to excellence in academic programs and the college’s reputation within the community for service and partnerships.” according to Peter Grose, CEO of Fuss & O’Neill, who serves on the MCC Foundation Board of Directors and chairs the foundation’s Disbursement Committee. “This new scholarship makes it even easier and more affordable for new high school graduates to take advantage of all that MCC has to offer.”

MCC Foundation also supports current students through a number of additional scholarship funds and, each semester, scholarships awarded through the foundation help hundreds of deserving students achieve their academic dreams. Last year, the foundation awarded more than $200,000 in scholarships.
