Richard J. Trachimowicz, MCC Foundation President
Manchester, CT – (June 11, 2013) . . . Richard J. Trachimowicz, of Princeton, MA, was elected president of the Manchester Community College Foundation board of directors.
Richard J. Trachimowicz is currently Executive Vice President at Rockville Bank and President of the Rockville Bank Foundation. He joined the bank in May 1996 serving as the Senior Vice President, Retail Banking Officer until he was appointed to the position of Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Organizational Development Officer in 2007. In April 2010 he was promoted to his current position. Prior to 1996, Mr. Trachimowicz served as Manager of Sales and Customer Service for Northeast Savings, located in Hartford, Connecticut.
He is a member of the Connecticut Bankers Association’s Management Development Committee, and serves on the board of directors for the Center for Financial Training, Atlantic and Central states.
The following board members were also elected as officers: Gene S. Mazur, of Manchester, Vice President; Michael B. Lynch, Jr., of Manchester, Treasurer; and Elizabeth W. Benavides, of Manchester, Secretary. Gene S. Mazur is the Foundation’s immediate past president, having led the Foundation for nine years.
Rockville Bank is a long-time supporter of Manchester Community College through the Manchester Community College Foundation. The bank’s President and CEO, William Crawford IV, has served as honorary chair for the college’s past two Evening of Fine Wines fundraiser events. In addition, William J. McGurk, retired President and CEO of Rockville Bank, served for many years on Manchester Community College Foundation’s board of directors, having recently been named as its first director emeritus, and having also served twice as Evening of Fine Wines honorary chair. Rockville Bank Foundation also made a multi-year commitment to name the college’s computer center. Trachimowicz has served on the Manchester Community College Foundation board of directors since 2010.

The Manchester Community College Foundation is a private, nonprofit, 501(c) (3) Connecticut corporation. It is governed by a volunteer board of directors, composed of business and community leaders who assist the college in securing funding for programmatic, scholarship and equipment needs.
Students of any age who possess the desire to pursue higher education are welcome at Manchester Community College. MCC is proud of its academic excellence, new facilities, flexible schedules, small classes, low tuition and faculty with both academic and “real world” credentials. The college offers over 60 programs, transfer options, financial aid and scholarships, as well as access to baccalaureate degrees through guaranteed admissions programs with several universities. The main, park-like campus, which is easily accessible from I-84, is also the home of Great Path Academy, a middle college high school, serving grades 9-12. The college’s second location, the Manchester Community College Arts and Education Center, opened in downtown Manchester in 2012.
