Rainwater Named Curator of Dehn Gallery at MCC on Main
The MCC Foundation has selected Jane Rainwater as curator of the Adolf and Virginia Dehn Gallery at the Manchester Community College Arts and Education Center, also known as MCC on Main.
The art gallery – named in memory of the Dehns by the Adolf and Virginia Dehn Foundation – presents contemporary art created by both established and emerging artists. Its exhibition schedule has been developed to showcase a wide range of art forms – painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, video, installation and performance art – and to feature the work of regional and Connecticut artists (click here for more information on the Dehn Gallery and Adolf and Virginia Dehn).
Rainwater, a native of Westport, Conn., currently lives in Andover, and is an exhibiting fine artist, educator and graphic designer. She is the owner of Rainwater Design, an award-winning full service design studio located in Connecticut. She teaches art and graphic design at MCC and Eastern Connecticut State University.
She is the recipient of a Radius Emerging Artist Fellowship from The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in Ridgefield, Conn., and she holds an M.F.A. from Lesley College of Art and Design, as well as a B.F.A. from The Hartford Art School.
