ALEKS PPL is a program you can use to test for placement, prepare for a math course, and learn more math skills. It can help determine helps determine the appropriate mathematics course for you to begin your studies at Manchester.
Registering for the ALEKS PPL Math Placement Test
Your first ALEKS assessment may be taken online at your convenience.
- To take the initial placement test online, go to aleks.com/sign_up, and enter the Manchester Class Code: AAJTX-JTDXL.
- You must register with your Manchester email address, which ends with @mail.ct.edu.
- To find and access your Manchester email:
- Log in to my.ctstate.edu with your NetID
- Click the link to Access Office365/Email
- Click the upper right corner and click “View Account”
- Your @mail.ct.edu address will be listed here.
Taking the ALEKS PPL Math Placement Test
- The score on this initial assessment will provide a baseline on your current math skills, so it is very important you give your best, honest effort.
- The use of an external calculator (non-CAS models such as the TI-83+ or TI-84+) is allowed.
- All other resources such as websites, books, or asking a friend are not allowed.
After taking the ALEKS PPL Math Placement Test
When you see your score (number in a circle) you have completed your initial assessment.
- To register for a math course, contact a Guided Pathways Advisor at manchester.edu/advising.
- If you believe you would benefit from retaking the assessment, click on “Improve Your Knowledge in a Prep and Learning Module” to build skills in math. You must spend 3+ hours in the module before you can schedule a retake. All retakes must be taken on campus by scheduling an appointment with Heidi Campbell, Testing Specialist .
