Northern Essex Beats MCC with Three-Run Sixth
First Place Knights Improve to 9-2 in Region; Cougars Drop to 6-3

MANCHESTER – Dan Fabian broke a 2-2 tie in the top of the sixth inning with a two-run double as Northern Essex CC (15-10, 9-2) beat Manchester CC 4-3 in a Region 21 Division III game Monday afternoon.

Winning pitcher Kyle O’Neill (4-1) allowed three runs on five hits over first six innings and Costas Tingas retired all nine batters he faced for his second save.

Jesse Sutherland (Montville) had two doubles, scored two runs and drove in one for MCC (12-21, 6-3). Brian Levchuk (Branford) threw 3.1 innings of no-hit, no run relief with three strikeouts for the Cougars, who play a Region 21, Division III makeup game Tuesday in Holyoke CC Tuesday in a makeup game.
