New Staff Joins Manchester Community College
Manchester, CT – (February 21, 2008) . . . Manchester Community College is pleased to announce the following additions to its staff:
Susan Barzottini, of Manchester, has joined MCC as an assistant professor of management information systems/technology in the college’s Center for Business and Technologies division.
In her new role, Barzottini will be responsible for teaching and preparing courses in management information systems, computer science, engineering and technology. In addition, she will advise and recruit students; develop, implement and evaluate curricula; and participate on college committees.
Barzottini was formerly a part-time lecturer in the college’s Center for Business and Technologies division and was employed as a data processing manager at the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services in Hartford. Previously, she worked as a project manager, systems designer and programmer for Accenture, formerly Andersen Consulting in Hartford.
Barzottini is a graduate of the University of Connecticut with a master of business administration degree and a bachelor of science degree in accounting.
Steven Moore of Glastonbury, is the new assistant professor of engineering technology in the college’s Center for Business and Technologies division. Moore holds a master of science degree in electrical engineering from North Carolina State University. He also holds a master of science degree in computer science and engineering and a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Connecticut.
As an assistant professor of engineering technology, Moore will be responsible for teaching and preparing courses in engineering, technology and computer science. In addition, he will advise and recruit students, develop, implement and evaluate curricula; and participate on college committees.
Moore was formerly a part-time lecturer at Manchester Community College and a performance test engineer at the Hartford Technology Service Company in Hartford.
Wanda Reyes-Dawes, of Hartford, is the college’s new counselor in the Center for Student Development.
In this role, Reyes-Dawes will be responsible for providing advice and professional counseling to students in order to contribute to their successful academic, career, personal, social and college experience. Additionally, she will support students as they clarify basic values and interests, formulate educational and vocational goals, and explore alternative strategies for goal achievement. Reyes-Dawes will also assist in institutional efforts to assess students’ developmental needs and initiate programs designed to meet those needs.
Reyes-Dawes previously worked an adjunct faculty member at Capital Community College and as a part-time counselor and academic advisor at Manchester Community College. She also held the position of minority fellow at Manchester Community College for the 2005-2006 academic year.
Reyes-Dawes is a graduate of Central Connecticut State University with a master of science degree in counseling -student development in higher education and holds a bachelor of science degree in human services from Springfield College.
Andrea Mack, of Hamden, is the new full-time Information Technology Technician.
She will be responsible for providing technically sound assistance in installation, operation, adaptation, maintenance and repair of computer equipment and software on a college-wide basis.
Mack is a graduate of the Quinnipiac University with a bachelor of science degree in computer information systems and rewarded an associate in science degree in computer information systems from Manchester Community College.
