New Principal at Great Path Academy

Dr. Leslie Torres-Rodriguez Appointed Principal at Great Path Academy

Manchester, CT-(September 8, 2011)…Dr. Leslie Torres-Rodriguez, a resident of East Hartford, has been appointed Principal at Great Path Academy, a middle college high school located at Manchester Community College. Dr. Torres-Rodriguez has held positions as Assistant Director and Interim Executive Director at San Juan Tutorial Program, as School Social Worker at Goodwin Technical High School in New Britain, and adjunct Professor of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Capital Community College. Her most recent administrative role was at Manchester High School, where she served as the Freshmen Center and Grade 9 Assistant Principal and Administrator of Career and Technical Education programs. She is a member of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development and the National Association of Secondary School Principals.

Dr. Torres-Rodriguez holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Relations, and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Connecticut. She also holds a Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership from Central Connecticut State University. At the core of her student-centered leadership style is a commitment to excellence, high expectations and collaborative processes. Deputy Executive Director of Capital Regional Educational Council (CREC) Denise Gallucci stated “Dr. Torres-Rodriguez is a gifted educator who is well respected by the school community. Great Path Academy is an inter-district magnet school managed by CREC. The middle college high school format provides students with an accelerated program through which they may enroll in up to eight credits per semester in direct college classes. Over the past three years, 97% of Great Path Academy students have graduated and enrolled in post-secondary education.
