Monroe College Beats MCC With Header Early In Second Half

MANCHESTER – Anthony Assante’s header 14 minutes into the second half gave Monroe College (6-0) a 1-0 victory over Manchester CC (3-2) Monday afternoon. The game winner came off a crossbar rebound following a Mamadu Balde direct kick at the top of the 18-yard box.

Tony Ettore (Plainville) made seven saves for the Cougars who saw their three-game winning streak come to an end.

Coach Jim Insinga’s team hosts Ben Franklin Institute of Technoly Saturday, September 25 at 2PM.
