Miranda Hodge Named All-New England For Second Allison, Pearson,Consecutive Year
Manchester CC soccer captain Miranda Hodge (Rocky Hill) was named All-New England first team for a second consecutive season after leading the Cougars with six goals. Hodge scored 14 goals over her two-year career at MCC, helping the Cougars qualify for the NJCAA Region 21 tournament both seasons.
Freshmen Jenna Allison (East Hartford) and Kristin Pearson (Coventry) were also All-New England first team selections while sophomore Michelle Magora (Enfield) and freshmen Kristen Lackman (Willington) and Gillian Rennie (Vernon) were All-New England second team selections.
The Cougars qualified for the NJCAA Region 21 Division III tournament for a fourth consecutive year and finished 6-6-2 under first-year coach Jeremy Wilson.
Allison, who was a freshman captain, played in all 14 MCC games, anchoring the defense while scoring a pair of goals. Pearson, who was also a defender, scored a goal and assisted on another.
Magora was a two-year starter in the midfield, playing in 27 of MCC’s 28 games with six goals and five assists. Lackman and Rennie were key members of a defensive backfield that turned in four shutouts over 14 games.
