MCC Women’s Soccer team Remains Unbeaten

The MCC Women’s Soccer team got a pair of first half goals from Shelly Muratori (Newington) and 5 saves from Tolland’s Nicole Morehouse to beat Dean College 3-1 in Franklin MA Saturday afternoon. Heather Kowalsky (Newington) scored her first goal of the season to give the Cougars a 3-1 edge in the second half. Lindsay Estok (Middletown) had a pair of assists.

“It was a tough, physical game,” according to MCC Head Coach Alex Calpa after his team improved to 7-0 on the season. “We moved the ball well and played solidly defensively.”

Betsy Whalen (Avon, one assist), Ellington’s Julia Connor and Amy Griswold, Brittany Finger (Enfield) and Muratori were cited by Calpa for playing solid defense in front of Morehouse. The Women’s team hosts on MassBay CC on Monday afternoon (Sept 22) at the McCormick Complex on the MCC campus starting at 4pm.
