MCC Women Shut Out MassBay; Still Perfect at 8-0
MANCHESTER, CT – (September 22) The MCC Women’s Soccer team improved to 8-0 on the season after beating MassBay CC on Monday afternoon at the McCormick Complex on the MCC campus.
Lindsay Estok (Middletown) scored two goals and Chelsea Allen picked up a pair of assists for the winners. Brittany Finger (Enfield) scored her team high 11th goal 10 minutes into the contest to put the Cougars ahead to stay, then added an assist on the game’s final goal, which was scored by Estok in the 72nd minute. In between, the Cougars benefited from goals by Christine Amat (Glastonbury), and Ellington natives Julia Connor and Amy Griswold.
The Cougars kept MassBay goalkeeper Briana Hart busy with 39 shots on goal. Hart played the angles well in the losing effort and kept the score down by making 24 saves.
Nicole Morehouse (Tolland) and Kyle Roncaioli (West Hartford) each played a half in goal and shared a shutout for the fourth time this season. MCC has scored 40 goals over eight games while allowing just two.
The Cougars travel to New Hampshire Tech on Saturday and return home for 4 pm game against Springfield Technical CC on Wednesday October 1 at 4PM.
