MCC to Hold “Virtual Open House” April 28 for Summer and Fall 2020 Terms
MANCHESTER, Conn. (April 13, 2020) – Manchester Community College will hold a WebEx-based “Virtual Open House” to ensure everyone’s safety and health during the COVID-19 crisis – while still extending access to students and their families interested in pursuing their educational goals during the Summer and/or Fall 2020 terms.
The WebEx session will be live Tuesday, April 28, from 12:30 to 2 p.m. It is free and open to new, returning and transfer students and their families. As with a traditional college open house, attendees will have the opportunity to interact with MCC faculty and staff.
It is not necessary to have a WebEx account to participate, as access is set up for all attendees via a portal. For information and to pre-register, visit www.manchestercc.edu/openhouse.
“During this special Virtual Open House, our experts will discuss admissions; financial aid; PACT, Connecticut’s program for free community college; programs we offer and student benefits. We will have staff from all of these areas available, as well as current students. There will also be plenty of time for questions,” according to Samantha Plourd, associate director of admissions, who is coordinating the event with her staff.
Registration for both Summer and Fall terms is open for all students. Examples of degrees and certificates include art and design, business, communication, engineering and technology, health care, helping professions and culinary arts and hospitality management. In advance of the Virtual Open House, there will also be a series of online Q&A Information Sessions covering how to apply, enroll and complete a financial aid application.
