MCC Students Inducted into Epsilon Pi Tau International Technology Honor Society During Virtual Ceremony

MANCHESTER, Conn. (May 5, 2020) – Three Manchester Community College students were inducted into the Gamma Phi chapter of Epsilon Pi Tau, the international honor society that recognizes current and future leaders in technology professions. The Gamma Phi chapter represents all of the community colleges in Connecticut.

MCC students Nicola Bernard, Anson Melick and Blake Mellling were inducted during a ceremony posted online to ensure the health and safety of everyone during the COVID-19 pandemic. The ceremony — modeled after the more than 90-year-old traditional induction that would have been held — included pre-recorded videos and presentations from the Epsilon Pi Tau board of directors and Gamma Phi Chapter Trustee Karen Wosczyna-Birch. Each inductee’s name was read aloud and displayed onscreen.

Established in 1929 at Ohio State University, Epsilon Pi Tau now has more than 125 chapters serving students at accredited two-year and four-year colleges and universities. Its mission is to encourage academic excellence of students in fields devoted to the general study of technology and to prepare practitioners for the technology professions.
