MCC Student, Rowan Holness, Named International Scholar

Manchester, CT – (May 22, 2012) . . . This summer, outstanding college students from across the United States and over 30 countries around the world will take part in unique career exploration programs in China, Australia and the United States. MCC Student, Rowan Holness, has been accepted to the 2012 International Scholar Laureate Program (ISLP) Delegation on Business in Australia.

Holness, who was born in Jamaica and recently became a United States resident, lives in Manchester, CT. He is pursuing an associate degree in Business at MCC. Rowan is an officer- at-large in Phi Theta Kappa (the international honor society recognizing academic achievement of associate degree students) and volunteers as a basketball coach and mentor during the summer at Connecticut Renewal Team (CRT) in Hartford. Currently, he works as a tutor at the Washington Media Arts Elementary School in Manchester.

The International Scholar Laureate Program (ISLP) provides high-achieving students with the opportunity to take part in a learning experience designed to inform and enrich their career objectives and foster their ambition to achieve their lifelong goals in a way unlike any other.
