MCC Soccer At Massasoit: Women Tie 3-3; Men Lose 2-0

Massasoit CC 3 Manchester CC 3 (2 OT)

BROCKTON, MA – Gillian Rennie (Rockville) scored with two minutes to play in regulation to give Manchester CC (0-2-1) a 3-3 tied at Massasoit CC (2-0-1) Saturday afternoon.

Miranda Hodge (Rocky Hill) scored goals in the first and second half with Kristen Lackman (Willington) assisting on both. Jamie Lendin (two goals) scored and Amber Dwyer scored for Massasoit.

“We had chances to win it, but played sloppy in front of both goals,” MCC head coach Jeremy Wilson said.”As soon as we figure that out we’ be good.”

MCC hosts Springfield Tech on Monday at 4 PM then travels to Holyoke CC on Wednesday – both Region 21 Division III games.

BROCKTON, MA – (September 11) – Andrew Rezanalas scored in each half to give Massasoit CC (2-0) a 2-0 win over Manchester CC (0-1) in Saturday afternoon in Brockton, MA.

Rezanales’ second goal came in the 84th minute as MCC opted to play with three forwards down the stretch attempting to tie the game.

“They jumped all over us in the first 20-25 minutes then settled into the game,” MCC head coach Jim Insinga said. “Robert (Umunakwe) had a breakaway but the goalkeeper saved it. We could have come out with a tie.”

MCC plays a pair of NJCAA Region 21 Division III game this coming week starting with a trip to Springfield Tech Monday afternoon followed by their first home match of the year against Holyoke CC Wednesday at 4PM.
