MCC Scores Early and Often in 9-0 Victory Over MassBay
WELLESLEY HILLS, MA – Mariusz Kurzatkowski (Southington) scored three goals and assisted on another as Manchester Community (14-1) beat MassBay CC 9-0 Tuesday afternoon in Wellesley Hills, MA.
The win was the 25th consecutive in NJCAA Region 21 play for the Cougars. Kevin Battista (Enfield) had a goal and two assists and Shavar Duncan (Montego Bay, JA) had a goal and an assist.
Hami Kara (Wethersfield), Tony Ettorre (Plainville) and Connor Burns (Rocky Hill) combined for eight saves in MCC’s 12th shutout of the season. Mass Bay drops to 4-8-1.
Duncan scored twelve minutes into the game on a Kurzatkowski assist, then returned the favor three minutes later when Kurzatkowski scored his first of three goals. Giuseppe Panajia (Glastonbury), Tony Scotti (Bristol), Sebby Mazzarella (Wethersfield) and Lucas Soares (Naugatuck) also scored for the Cougars, who won their fourth straight road game and seventh straight overall.
Kara made three saves in the first half and Ettorre made three in the first thirty five minutes of the second before turning the game over to Burns, who was called on to make one save othe final ten minutes.
Ken Rossignol (Manchester) had two assists while Scotti, Soares, Michel Dombeu (Rockville), Lamine Toupou (Hartford), Ethan Riddick (East Windsor) and Manny Nanadoum (Naugatuck) also picked up assists.
MCC hosts Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology Saturday at noon.
