MCC on Main July and August Events Announced

On the heels of the town of Manchester’s “Imagine Main Street” events next week, MCC on Main, Manchester Community College’s arts and education center at 903 Main Street, will help keep things alive downtown with a series of events throughout July and August.

The weekend of July 11 and 12 will be particularly exciting with live music by The Shine and the return of the popular Paint Party with Art.Lab. Highlights are below. For details on any of these events, call 860-647-6030 or visit the MCC on Main website.

“Live on Main” entertainment in the Dehn Gallery:

July 12 – The Shine. 7 p.m. $5 cover. Soulful acoustics with a twist.

July 19 – Lorraine Drive Band. 7 p.m. $5 cover. A blend of driving blues, rock and up-tempo funk and jam-oriented grooves. First appearance at MCC on Main.

August 16 – The Guinea Pigs. 7 p.m. $5 cover. Music is folk/acoustic.

August 22 – Johnny Youngblood “Into the Fire.” 7 p.m. $5 cover. Acoustic.

August 29 – Tick Tick Boom. 7 p.m. $5 cover. Enjoy improv comedy from this troupe with an expansive repertoire.

Art Exhibitions:

Through July 24 – Manchester Art Association Exhibition. Group members’ show. Gallery hours: Wednesday and Thursday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Click for a video preview.

July 31 through September 13 – Seeing Things: 7 Photographers. Opening Reception, July 31 at 6 p.m.; Music by Beller’s from 7 to 8 p.m. Free. Light refreshments. See work by Robert Calafiore, Rebecca Clark, Sean Kernan, Daniel Mosher Long, Kevin Van Aelst, Susan Whitehouse and Kimberly Witham.

Workshops & Seminars:
