MCC Offers Yoga Teacher Certification Program

Manchester, Conn. (July 29, 2015) –Yoga practitioners have the opportunity to turn their passion into a full-time or supplemental career by earning a Yoga Teacher Certification through the Continuing Education division this fall. The Credit Free programs course is also appropriate for students who would like to deepen their yoga practice.

The 200-hour Yoga Alliance Certified course will be instructed by Annie Quagliaroli, the founder of LivFree Power Yoga, who teaches yoga at ESPN among other locations, and teaches yoga teacher trainings and life coaching workshops across the country and abroad. MCC’s 24-session course will be held on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. from September 24 to November 14 on the Manchester campus.

Quagliaroli’s philosophy for training yoga teachers is “very tactile. There is a lot of teaching time included in the program with practical feedback built in to the process. Students not only learn how to teach, they practice and learn from each other,” Quagliaroli explains.

Students enrolled in MCC’s program will experience a combination of classroom study and practical training, learning the fundamentals necessary to lead a fun and inspiring yoga class for adults.

“MCC’s program is set apart from other training programs because of the dedication to giving students the applied skills to come out of the program with the experience of leading a course and ready to work independently as a result,” Quagliaroli says.

“Evidence points more and more to yoga, breathe work and meditation benefitting clients. MCC’s program encourages professionals from a variety of backgrounds, such as psychologists and therapists, social workers and teachers, even medical professionals, to use yoga to enhance their work with clients and students,” Quagliaroli boasts.

Yoga Alliance Certification is the premier credential for yoga teachers in entering the field; and the association promotes the standards of best practices for both yoga training and practice. Membership is recognized globally by prospective employers and students to be a symbol of standards-based yoga. Annie Quaglioroli is both a member of Yoga Alliance and the Yoga Alliance Advisory Group to the Standards Committee, representing the diversity of experience and interests from across the extensive spectrum of yoga traditions.
