MCC Music Studies Program to Hold Auditions
MANCHESTER, Conn. (June 28, 2018) – MCC’s Music Studies program will hold auditions on August 7 for students seeking to enroll beginning in Fall 2018.
The Music Studies program, the only two-year degree curriculum in Connecticut, prepares students with the knowledge and skills required for direct employment in a music-related career or the necessary skills and knowledge for students to pursue a baccalaureate degree program.
To comply with the National Association for Schools of Music accrediting standards, students who are pursuing a music degree at MCC are required to audition. Auditions are scheduled for 15 minutes, and students are required to perform, in person, two compositions.
The audition process is designed to assess a student’s proficiency in ability to read and interpret standard musical notation and pronounce an acceptable tone quality on one’s instrument or voice.
