MCC Introduces New Instructors for Real Estate Courses
Manchester Community College’s Continuing Education division has appointed two new instructors to teach in its Real Estate program.
Marc William Vallen is a practicing attorney, employed by the State of Connecticut. Prior to this, he maintained a multi-faceted small firm and solo private practice. Vallen received his law degree cum laude from Quinnipiac University in 1990. He has been teaching real estate and various other courses since 1996, including at the University of Hartford. He presently serves as co-chair of the paralegals section of the Connecticut Bar Association.
Kathleen E. Carey, of Rocky Hill, is also a practicing attorney who has handled more than 200 real estate transactions, including purchases, sales, refinances, short sales, reverse mortgages, and private loans, in just the last year. She is acting chair of the CT Young Lawyers Real Property Committee, and participates in the Foreclosure Volunteer Attorney program, sponsored by the Conn. Judicial Branch. In addition, Carey brings more than seven years ‘experience in the mortgage industry as a mortgage processor and closer to MCC.
Manchester Community College offers courses in real estate beginning at various times each term. Students can begin studying to sell real estate with the course Principles and Practices, the required course for real estate licensing. Sessions are taught by Vallen and Carey. The next course begins February 23, held on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6 to 9:45 p.m. (reference CRN 11780). Principles and Practices will also be held starting March 17 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. (reference CRN 11556).
