MCC Hosts New England Haas Technical Education Center Conference
MANCHESTER, Conn. (September 20, 2017) – Manchester Community College will host the regional Haas Technical Education Center (HTEC) conference Friday, September 22, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The day’s agenda includes an afternoon panel discussion focused on what manufacturers are looking for in the current work force, current challenges in filling the skills gap, and how social media is impacting recruiting of young talent.
Members of the panel are Tracy Ariel, director, advanced manufacturing centers, Connecticut State Colleges and Universities; Brent Jacobsen, manufacturing pipeline coordinator, Three Rivers Community College; Howard Jenkins, manager of human resources, Electric Boat; and Stephen LaPointe, director, advanced manufacturing, Quinebaug Valley Community College.
The HTEC mission is to promote and advance manufacturing and productivity through excellence in manufacturing education.
