MANCHESTER, Conn. (July 7, 2021) – Manchester Community College will hold a free online information session Tuesday, July 20, from 4 to 5 p.m., for students interested in the Disabilities Specialist program.
The session will be conducted via Webex and will provide an opportunity to learn more about the Disability Specialist associate degree and certificate, as well as the Speech-Language Pathology Assistant associate degree. The program coordinator will present information on curriculum and possible pathways after graduation.
The MCC Disability Specialist program provides educational opportunities for students currently employed in, and those interested in working in, the disability services field. It emphasizes the unique gifts and skills that people with disabilities, regardless of their age, bring to society. Its underlying philosophy is the belief that people with disabilities are an integral part of any and all communities.
Course work prepares students to assist children and adults with disabilities to realize their potential and achieve goals of inclusion and participation.
