MCC to Hold 17th Annual Part-Time Job Fair, September 27

MANCHESTER, Conn. (September 22, 2016) – Manchester Community College is hosting its 17th annual part-time job fair on Tuesday, September 27, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the SBM Charitable Foundation Building first-floor lobby. Some 24 high-profile businesses, including The Hartford, AT&T, and the Journal Inquirer, will meet with potential employees. Job seekers should bring a current resume and dress for success, according to Julie Greene, director of Career and Veteran’s Services.

“It is a great opportunity for students to discover work experiences that can complement their majors as well as their class schedules,” she said. “For the approximately 200 to 300 students who attend, it is a great way for them to put themselves out there and possibly even get a foot in the door at a job they will love.”

The job fair isn’t just valuable for the job seekers. It is also constructive for the businesses that attend. It helps them find employees to fill in some of the gaps in their capacity to serve their customers.

“With the amount of eager students who attend the fair, it is a great way for businesses to get mass amounts of exposure and possible employees,” Greene said. “The majority of businesses we hear back from generally have positive feedback about the event.”

The part-time job fair is open to the public. For more information, contact Julie Greene at 860-512-3372 or jgreene@manchestercc.edu.
