MCC Foundation Receives $50,000 Grant for Scholarships from Hartford Foundation for Public Giving

MANCHESTER, Conn. (June 7, 2021) – Manchester Community College Foundation has received a $50,000 grant from Hartford Foundation for Public Giving to fund scholarships for MCC students during the 2021-22 academic year.

The Hartford Foundation (www.hfpg.org) is the community foundation for Hartford and 28 surrounding communities. The grant-making organization brings together dedicated individuals, businesses and nonprofits to understand local challenges, share information and put resources behind solutions that can improve the quality of life for the region and across Connecticut.

The funds, to be managed by MCC Foundation, will provide scholarships to MCC students that have demonstrated financial need and are matriculated in a degree or certificate program and are either traditional-age or adult learners.

MCC CEO Nicole Esposito said, “We are very grateful for this generous grant. MCC has a long-standing relationship with Hartford Foundation for Public Giving and we are grateful to be working with them to help improve equity in higher education.”

MCC Foundation President Rosemarie Papa added, “The Hartford Foundation has been a long-time supporter of higher education and students in Connecticut. These funds will greatly enhance MCC Foundation’s ability to continue our mission of helping students to find opportunities to improve and sometimes transform their lives.”
