MCC Earns National NAEYC Accreditation

Manchester, Connecticut-(March 11, 2011) …The Child Development Center at Manchester Community College has earned accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), which is the nation’s leading organization of early childhood professionals.

Gregg Brohinsky, Director of the Child Development Center at Manchester Community College said, “We are proud to have earned the mark of quality from NAEYC, and to be recognized for our commitment to reaching the highest professions standards.”

To earn NAEYC Accreditation, the Child Development Center went through an extensive self-study process, measuring the program and its services against the ten NAEYC Early Childhood Program standards and more than 400 related accreditation criteria. In the 25 years since NAEYC Accreditation was established, it has become a widely recognized sign of high-quality early childhood education. The Child Development Center program at MCC received NAEYC Accreditation after an on-site visit by NAEYC Assessors to ensure that the program meets each of the program standards.

The MCC Child Development Center is designed to stimulate and challenge the creative preschooler. Children aged two years and nine months in September through five years of age are eligible to attend, with priority given to children of MCC students. Community residents may register children when space is available. Children may be registered for two, three, four or five half or full days to accommodate parents’ school schedules.

Students of any age who possess the desire to pursue higher education are welcome at Manchester Community College. MCC is proud of its academic excellence, new facilities, flexible schedules, small classes, low tuition and faculty with both academic and “real world” credentials. The College offers over 60 programs, transfer options, financial aid and scholarships as well as access to baccalaureate degrees through guaranteed admissions programs with several universities. MCC is situated on a park-like campus and is easily accessible from I-84.
