MCC Celebrates 46th Annual Commencement

Manchester Community College will celebrate its 46th Commencement Ceremony. Senator Mary Ann Handley will deliver the commencement address. Senator Handley represents the 4th Senatorial District.

Dr. Marie M. Spivey will receive the honorary degree of associate in humane letters honoris causa. Dr. Spivey is an administrator of allied health and nursing initiatives for Capital Workforce Partners, vice chair of the Great Path Academy Governing Board,and former member of the Connecticut Community-Technical Colleges Board of
Trustees.

The Board of Trustees’ Merit Award will be presented to American Eagle Federal Credit Union for their commitment and service to Manchester Community College.

The Regional Advisory Council’s Community Service Award will be presented to Lisa Turcotte of Coventry for her service to the College.

Iren Muzsi of Vernon is the recipient of the President’s Student Award. This award recognizes a student who has demonstrated unusual perseverance in spite of difficulties, obstacles or challenges.

The ceremony will be held in the Bicentennial Band Shell, at MCC on Thursday, May 27 at 5:30 p.m. In the event of rain, the ceremony will be held inside the SBM Charitable Foundation Auditorium in the AST building at 5:30 p.m. The decision will be made by
11 a.m. on that day.
