Upcoming Events at Manchester Community College

Manchester, Connecticut-(April 24, 2012)…The following events will be held at Manchester Community College during the month of May:

Saturday, May 5, 8:00 a.m.- Le Tour de Valor, the 2nd Annual Veterans Scholarship Fundraiser to benegit veterans who are not eligible for GI Benefits and/or the CT Tuition Waiver. This is a bike ride with options for a 6- mile, 30- mile or 60- mile ride. Registration fee includes T-shirt and continental breakfast. Fee: $ 30, pre-reg; $35, ride day. Friday, May 11, 6:00 p.m. Spring Arts Festival will feature the opening reception for the MCC fine arts student exhibition and vocal and instrumental performances by music students. Thursday, May 17, 7:00 p.m.-Hartford Stage Education Department presents Breakdancing Shakespeare: Romeo & Juliet. Performances by talented Hartford High School students. SBM Charitable Foundation Auditorium. Contact ccappetta@manchestercc.edu.

Thursday, May 17, 7:00 p.m.- Mishi-maya-gat Spoken Word & Music Series. Poets Ellen Dore Watson and D.M. Gordon will read their poems and David Mack will perform a solo blues set. Contact scampiglio@manchestercc.edu.

Friday, May 18, 7 p.m.-International Film Series presents “Saving Private Perez (Mexico) in the SBM Charitable Foundation Auditorium.

Wednesday, May 30, 6:00 p.m.- The 22nd MCC Awards Ceremony will recognize outstanding MCC students in many areas. Invitation to attend is required. Contact pmitchell-crump@manchestercc.edu.

Thursday, May 31, 5:30 p.m.- 48th MCC Commencement held at the Bicentennial Band Shell on the MCC campus.
