MCC Announces Scholarship Awards for Summer 2021 Sessions

MANCHESTER, Conn. (June 14, 2021) – Manchester Community College Foundation awarded scholarships to be used by students during the Summer 2021 sessions. Thirty-eight scholarships were awarded to 36 students. A total of more than $41,000 in funding was awarded, and on average each student received about $1,100.

Of these, three scholarships were from the foundation’s “Funds to Finish” program, which provides funding set aside from the Raymond F. Damato bequest and pays the tuition and fees for the last one to two classes that a student needs to graduate. MCC Foundation gives hundreds of deserving students the opportunity to achieve their academic dreams through the scholarship program. Scholarship awards are merit- and need-based and range from $150 to more than $1,000 per student per academic term. In addition, the foundation supports college programs.

MCC Foundation President Rosemarie Papa said, “We are pleased to be able to make these awards to students for them to pursue their educational goals during the summer sessions. Many students are working hard to make up lost time due to the pandemic, and these funds will help offset the cost and bring them a step closer to success.”
