MCC Announces Accelerated Classes Starting September 12

Manchester, Conn. (September 1, 2015) – It is not too late to register for fall classes at Manchester Community College – and also accelerate toward a degree.

MCC is offering a range of accelerated classes that are starting in September. Presented in a 12-week format, these accelerated classes allow students to earn needed credits in a compressed time frame.

Courses include Financial Accounting, Medical Terminology, Program Logic with C++, Macroeconomics (traditional and online), Introduction to Engineering (online), English Composition, U.S. History II, First Year Experience, General Psychology, Community Engagement and Principles of Sociology.

Available accelerated classes can be found on myCommNet: after logging in, under “Date,” look for those classes starting on or after September 12. New students can apply now to the college and get log-in information for myCommNet, as well as immediately choose from any of the accelerated spring courses. Visit the website.

While the number of classes for accelerated courses is fewer than the regular fall and spring semesters, students should be aware that each course contains the same number of class hours as the regular semester. As a result, the level of study is much more intensive and demanding of time. Students should consider this in planning their time and course selection.

In addition, the MCC faculty is continually partnering with area colleges and universities, and local businesses and government, to develop new courses and programs that will not only meet future workforce needs of the state of Connecticut, but will also give students the strong academic foundation they need to transfer successfully to a baccalaureate school after completing their associate degree.
