MCC Announces Accelerated Classes Starting March 23
It is not too late to register for classes at Manchester Community College – and also accelerate toward a degree.
MCC is offering a range of accelerated classes that are starting in March. Presented in 8- and 12-week formats, accelerated classes allow students to earn needed credits in a compressed time frame.
Available accelerated classes can be found on myCommNet: after logging in, under “Date,” look for those classes starting March 23. New students can apply now to the college and get log-in information for myCommNet, as well as immediately choose from any of the accelerated spring courses by visiting the website.
While the number of classes for accelerated courses is fewer than the regular fall and spring semesters, students should be aware that each course contains the same number of class hours as the regular semester. As a result, the level of study is much more intensive and demanding of time. Students should consider this in planning their time and course selection.
In addition, the MCC faculty is continually partnering with area colleges and universities, and local businesses and government, to develop new courses and programs that will not only meet future workforce needs of the state of Connecticut, but will also give students the strong academic foundation they need to transfer successfully to a baccalaureate school after completing their associate degree.
Programs that are new in the past year include:
- Dental Assistant (Certificate)
- Electronic Health Records Specialist (Certificate)
- Radiation Therapy (A.S. degree)
- Radiography (A.S. degree)
- Interpersonal and Organizational Communication (A.A. degree)
