MCC Announces 2018 Excellence in Service and Teaching Awards

MANCHESTER, Conn. (February 22, 2018) – Manchester Community College announced the recipients of its 2018 Excellence in Service Awards and Excellence in Teaching Awards.

These MCC awards annually recognize and honor employees who demonstrate excellence as judged by their peers.  The awards are presented to recipients by MCC President Gena Glickman.

This year’s Excellence in Service Awards were given to three individuals: Mail Handler Jim Brunelle, of Plainville; Information Technology Network Manager Doug Michele, of Salem; and Counselor Robert Turner, Jr., ’98, of Bloomfield.

The Excellence in Teaching Awards went to two full-time faculty and one adjunct faculty member. They are Associate Professor/Business Office Technology Department Chair Carla Adams, of Wethersfield; Professor of Earth and Environmental Sciences/Program Coordinator Ann Hadley, of Glastonbury; and Instructor Dan Jensen, of Wethersfield.

All employees of MCC are eligible for one award or the other. Nominations typically are made each year by students, colleagues, supervisors, alumni or other community members.
