MCC Alum Angelo Sosa Returns
Manchester, Connecticut – (March 21, 2013)…The Manchester Community College Foundation is excited to announce that distinguished alumnus Angelo Sosa will be returning to campus for the 21st annual Evening of Fine Wines on Friday, April 26, 2013.
The Evening of Fine Wines is the premier fundraising event of the MCC Foundation, benefitting student scholarships and programs at MCC. The event features live and silent auctions of wine and non-wine items such as art work, jewelry and trips to exotic vacation destinations, as well as a wine-tasting and elegant hors d’oeuvres and desserts prepared by MCC’s Culinary Arts students.
The evening’s wine-tasting includes wines and other beverages from Connecticut and around the globe. The event brings together more than 20 vendors for the tasting, including tasting stations from the local Onyx Moonshine and Olde Burnside Brewing companies.

Chef Sosa graduated from MCC in 1995 with a culinary arts certificate and continued his education at the Culinary Institute of America where he graduated in 1997 with high honors. He has worked with some of the world’s most talented chefs in addition to running a successful restaurant consulting business and three restaurants of his own – two in mid-town Manhattan and one in Las Vegas. Chef Sosa has been featured twice on Bravo’s hit TV show, “Top Chef” (Season 7 and Top Chef: All-Stars) and recently released his own cookbook, Flavor Exposed. Currently, he splits his time between his restaurants Añejo Tequileria y Restaurante (New York City) and Poppy Den (Las Vegas), and overseeing a new concept launch at the second restaurant location in Manhattan, which is set to open later this year.
Students of any age who possess the desire to pursue higher education are welcome at Manchester Community College.
