MCC Adjunct Instructor Receives Milken Education Award
Douglas Hutton, a Glastonbury High School physics teacher and an instructor at MCC, received a $25,000 award from the Milken Familty Foundation. Candidates for the award are recommended by a blue-ribbon panel appointed by the Connecticut Education Department. The Milken Family Foundation said that Hutton makes physics come alive at Glastonbury High School.He centers his lessons around real world experiences, using props such as suto parts and gliders. Hutton mentors all new physics teachers and student teachers at Glastonbury High. He is an instructor at Manchester Community College and also on the adjunct faculty at the University of Connecticut. He was selected from among 88 physics teachers across the nation to be a reader for th AP physics exam.
