Manchester Community College’s STEM Programs Prepare Students for In-Demand Jobs

MANCHESTER, Conn.  (July 13, 2020) – Students interested in degrees and certificates that lead to jobs in growth industries are encouraged to enroll in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) courses at Manchester Community College. MCC’s degree and certificate courses are now enrolling for the Fall 2020 semester.

Whether students are looking for employment, enhanced technical credentials in the shorter term or plan on transferring to a baccalaureate institution, the college offers programs and courses to match educational goals and schedule. MCC STEM programs include associate in science degrees and certificates — which require fewer credit hours — in areas of health and life sciences; engineering, technology and physical sciences; mathematics; and precision manufacturing.

Survey data following business shutdowns and job loss during the COVID-19 pandemic indicate that the jobs most likely to fully return as the economy rebounds are STEM-related jobs.

Many of MCC’s STEM disciplines are linked to Connecticut State Colleges and University pathway transfer programs so that students planning to continue on to higher degrees can transfer to a senior institution almost seamlessly.
