Manchester Community College April Events Announced
The following events will be held at Manchester Community College during the month of April. All are free and open to the public, unless otherwise noted.
Sol LeWitt Exhibition, Hans Weiss Newspace Gallery, SBM Charitable Foundation Building. Sol LeWitt (1928-2007) is a major figure in the history of contemporary art. The exhibit is on loan from the New Britain Museum of American Art by special arrangement. The show runs to April 29. Health Careers Admission Information Sessions: Students interested in being admitted into a Health Careers program must attend a mandatory information session as the first step in the admissions process. April 9 – Dehn Foundation Visiting Artists Series: James McNabb. 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., SBM Charitable Foundation Building auditorium. James McNabb is a Philadelphia-based sculptor who makes abstract cityscapes from wood. April 9 – Tony Memmel in Concert. 6:30 to 8 p.m., SBM Charitable Foundation Building auditorium. Though he was born missing his left forearm, Tony Memmel taught himself to play the guitar by constructing a cast that secures a guitar pick to his arm. April 10 – International Film Series: Hundred-Foot Journey. 7 to 9:30 p.m. SBM Charitable Foundation Building auditorium. When the chef proprietress of a Michelin-starred French restaurant gets wind of a culinary immigrant opening an Indian restaurant just 100 feet from her own, her protests escalate to all-out war. April 14 – Digital Learning Day Showcase. 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Library Fireside Commons, LRC.
