Local Banks Support MCC
Manchester, CT – (January 18, 2008) … The Manchester Community College Foundation was recently awarded two charitable donations from the Rockville Bank Community Foundation, Inc. and the NewAlliance Foundation. These funds were donated to provide scholarships and support the college’s academic programs.
The Rockville Bank Community Foundation, Inc. awarded a $12,000 gift to support the Culinary Arts program and to establish an endowment scholarship in honor of Jonathan M. Daube, president of Manchester Community College, who will be retiring in June 2008 after 20 years of service.
A $50,000 three-year grant was awarded from the NewAlliance Foundation. This grant was established to provide academic scholarships to student in need of financial assistance.
The Manchester Community College Foundation is a private, nonprofit, 501(c) 3 Connecticut corporation. It is governed by a volunteer board of directors, composed of business and community leaders. Its board meets bi-monthly and lends its considerable expertise to the operations of the Foundation and the College’s development program.
Students of any age who possess the desire to pursue higher education are welcome at Manchester Community College.
