Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in American Sign Language, Interpreting for the Deaf, Deaf Studies or a related field is required. Applicants who do not meet the minimum qualifications as stated must put into writing precisely how their experience has prepared them for the responsibilities of this position and to provide appropriate references.

An understanding of the mission of the community college and a demonstrated ability to respond to and work with multiple constituencies and involvement in support of a culturally and ethnically diverse population are required.


Responsibilities

The Social Science and Hospitality Division is currently seeking a part-time lecturer to teach Sign Language I and Sign Language II. Classes meet for three hours each week; the instructor must also be available for one additional hour each week to meet with students. There is an immediate need for an instructor available during the morning hours, but all qualified individuals are encouraged to apply.


Minimum Salary/Compensation

$1,546 – $1,663 per credit hour
