GPA School Governance Council Elects a New President
We are very pleased to introduce Nadia Sombric to the school community as the new President of the Great Path Academy (GPA) School Governance Council (SGC). Nadia has a son, Nick Sombric, who currently attends GPA as a sophomore and has another son who will be attending Great Path Academy as a freshman, beginning next year, due to sibling preference. Nadia is very excited for the opportunity to join the GPA community in this role. We sat down to speak with her about her goals and vision for the school community. “I want to help to bring parents in and get them more involved,“ she stated, “Even though it (GPA) is high school, and they (the kids) are young adults, they still need that coaching and direction.” She is hoping to help to get families more excited about the events and opportunities here at GPA. She also will be happy to help fundraise for events, as well, bringing more families and community members into the action. She loves GPA as a school and wants to help to support it. She is very grateful for the staff and the work that they do to help her son. “Dr. Zotos has found an interest for Nick!” she exclaimed, “one that he never thought that he would have,” speaking of theater. Nadia is joined by Alicia Gilbert, mother of Cameron Gilbert, and Nilsa Marquez, mother of Natalie Deleon, on the SGC this year. We are very excited for the world of opportunities that will open up as these women work to support GPA!
