Get Real Estate Credentials Through MCC Credit-Free Programs
Investors and people looking to become licensed to sell real estate can build their knowledge and credentials through real estate courses offered by Manchester Community College Credit-Free Programs.
“Principles and Practices of Real Estate,” which begins January 27, is the required course for real estate licensing. It provides clear explanations of modern real estate practices and a working knowledge of real estate in Connecticut. “Property owners, buyers, sellers, and anyone interested in pursuing real estate careers or operations will find this course beneficial and rewarding,” said Angelo D’Amato, who teaches the 64-hour course for MCC. D’Amato brings more than 30 years of real estate brokerage, sales, leasing, development, and property management to the classroom.
Sixteen sessions, Mondays and Wednesdays, 1/27-3/24 (does not meet 2/17; exam date 3/26), 5:45-9:45 p.m. Fee: $485 (refer to CRN 11582 to register). Students must attend at least 60 hours of the total 64, and they must pass the course with a score of 70 or higher in order to sit for the State exam (the Salesperson Exam fee of approximately $80 is not included with this course).
“With the market improving, now is an excellent time to begin studying for a real estate license,” D’Amato said.
Investors can also benefit from the knowledge gained in this course. Other courses offered by MCC Credit-Free Programs for investors include “Buying Foreclosed Property,” which will be held April 7, from 6 to 9 p.m. Fee: $45 (refer to CRN 12097 to register). There are many deals available as the stock of bank-owned property is backlogged. Investors can learn tips from an experienced Connecticut real estate attorney, Elton Harvey, who teaches the course, on where to find foreclosed property, how an auction works, and how to negotiate the closing process.
