Entrepreneurship Week at MCC

Manchester Community College will celebrate National Entrepreneurship Week with a series of workshops and programs featuring local business leaders and MCC faculty and students. All programs are free and open to the public and will be held at MCC.

Entrepreneurship Week begin on Monday, February 22 at 7 p.m. with a lecture presentation from Sandra Rimetz, professor of computer science and technology. She will discuss “Emerging Technology in Business.” The presentation will be held in the Lowe building in room L233.

On Tuesday, February 23, from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology (CCAT) presents a local entrepreneurial panel entitled, “Lessons in Excellence.” The panel will feature regional business leaders including: Giovanni Tomasi, founder, CEO and Chief Technology Officer of RSL Fiber Systems (RSL); Adam Alfin, co-founder & CEO of Pagfad, LLC.; and Paul D. Tieger, founder and CEO of SpeedReading People, LLC. The panel will be held in the SBM Charitable Foundation Auditorium, AST. Dennis Brown from Connecticut Community Investment Corporation will speak on “How to Write a Business Plan.” The presentation will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Community Commons room located in Great Path Academy at MCC.

To conclude the week, MCC will present a Student Business Fair on Thursday, February 25 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. The business fair will be held in the AST rotunda. Student will display their businesses and promote future business endeavors.
