Cougars Rally from 5-0 Deficit to Beat Quinsigamond

MANCHESTER, CT – Manchester CC scored six runs in the bottom of the fifth inning on its way to a 12-7 victory over Quinsigamond CC in a Region 21, Division III game Monday afternoon in Manchester.

Quinsigamond (5-8, 2-1) took a 5-0 lead with a five-run second inning but MCC (14-11, 3-0) chipped away with single runs in the second and third innings and two runs in the fourth to cut the deficit to 5-4. The Cougars sent 10 batters to the plate in the six-run sixth when they took the lead for good.

MCC’s Starting pitcher Adam Scanlon (South Windsor) pitched six plus innings, giving up six runs (two earned) with four strikeouts to pick up his third victory of the season.

Leadoff hitter A. J. Silberman (Meriden) had three singles and scored three runs for the Cougars. Joey Allison (East Hartford) was 2 for 5 with an RBI and scored a run and Juan Bisono (New Britain) had an RBI triple. Justin Thomas (East Lyme) pitched scoreless eighth and ninth innings in a non-save situation.
