Cougars play well in 3-1 loss to Holyoke
Playing for the first time in 19 days, MCC lost to Holyoke CC 3-1 in Holyoke Thursday afternoon in Holyoke.
Miranda Hodge (Rocky Hill) scored for the Cougars, who drop to 3-5. Ilyssa Riley and Michelle Magora, both of Enfield, had assists and Michelle Kerr (Rockville) made nine saves.
The game was tied 0-0 at halftime, but Holyoke scored goals early in the second half before MCC cut the lead to 2-1 with 20 minutes.
MCC put pressure on Holyoke after pulling to within one goal but was unable to tie the game up before Holyoke put the game out of reach with their third goal.
“We missed a couple of shots and they scored on a counter attack,” MCC Coach Alex Calpa said. “It was a well played game.”
