Cougars Close Out Regular Season With Another Doubleheader Sweep

FRAMINGHAM, MA – Manchester CC (21-22) closed out its regular season with a doubleheader sweep at MassBay CC (2-22) Monday afternoon. Matt Niedzwiecki (Bristol) allowed just two hits in a 5-1 complete game victory in game one while Brian Levchuk (Branford) gave up just one earned run in a 9-2 complete game win in game two. Neither pitcher allowed a walk.

MCC swept three of four doubleheaders on consecutive days and finished the regular season with nine wins over its last 10 games.

Kyle Holland (Montville) was 5 for 8 with three RBI on the afternoon for the Cougars, who went 11-3 in Region 21, Division III play. The three-time defending champions will host the 2011 Region 21, Division III tournament May 6 -8. Pairings and game times will be announced Wednesday.
