CNA Program Offered at MCC

A 120-hour course designed to prepare students for employment as a Certified Nurse’s Aide (CNA) in long-term care facilities, hospitals, clinics and home health agencies, is still open for fall registration. If you are considering a career in the health care field, CNA experience is excellent preparation. The class will be held for twenty sessions, meeting Tuesdays and Thursdays, September 9 through November 18 (does not meet November 11), from 6-9 p.m. and 8 Saturdays, September 27 through November 22 (does not meet October 11) from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday sessions will be held at Woodlake at Tolland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for clinical rotations. The course will prepare students to observe the conditions of patients, take vital signs, and provide assistance with daily needs.

The only pre-requisite for the course is a free reading comprehension test to determine eligibility, or a transcript showing successful completion of a college-level English course. Students must also show proof of up to date immunizations prior to beginning clinical work.
